Jeff Cutler at Bowl of Cheese writes about the meeting in his post ‘Making Media’:
OK, you might argue that I have a problem if I’m at a bar in Jamaica Plain at 10AM on a Sunday. Well, part of the process…in fact the first step…is admitting you have a problem. I’m not a quitter, so I’m not going to admit anything.
Read David Tamés’ extensive meeting notes. He says in part:
Some people who I tell about the monthly Boston Media Maker un-meetings can’t imagine getting up early on a Sunday morning and trekking across town. For me, Sunday mornings are usually reserved for slowly sipping coffee while reading the Sunday New York Times, so I can relate, however, take a look at the depth and breath of attendees and topics this month. Every month an amazing group of people ask interesting questions or talk about their new media activity in the Boston area. If you’re into new media, want to get into new media, or want to help others get into new media, Boston Media Makers is the place to be the first Sunday of every month to go around the room and ask a question, do a show and tell, share a story, or just give a quick update of what you’ve been up to.

Sunday’s meeting will be remembered as the funniest meeting ever. People mingled out front at Sweet Finnish from around 10:00 to 10:30…
We then moved to the conference room, where for the next hour and a half, people took turns introducing themselves and talking about what they are working on.
It was totally laid back and we all had a great time.
Did you make any media at the meeting? Leave a comment here and tag your posts and photos, BMM030208.
Check out: David Tamés’ meeting notes.
Also, Getting to know you… getting to know all about you….
It was a great reminder of the richness and diversity that is out there in any community — lots of good ideas, interesting work and possibilities.
See you at our next meeting on April 6th.
It’s always on the first Sunday at 10:00 AM.

This was only the second time I attended the Boston Media Makers, but I felt strangely familiar and already connected with the other participants. Maybe it’s because many of us befriended each other on Twitter so in the month between each meeting, we are still following what each other is doing

TAG everything BMM1107 for this meeting!
Yay!
Steve Garfield started off the meeting and explained how it’s a live twitter around the table. Everyone takes turns talking about what they are doing. They can ask a questions or do a show and tell too.
We give everyone 3 minutes and that makes things move quickly around the table. Time is loosely regulated so more time is given to people who need more than 3 minutes.
Steve then talked about how it’s video/day month at NaVloPoMo - Make a Video a Day this month.
